A registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization

JUST COME OUT AND PLAY your favorite tunes

Artistic Hearts is a non-profit organization which was formed with a goal to create a soothing and enhancing experience for patients as they undergo dialysis treatment by allowing student volunteers to perform live for them.  A fortune 500 company and one of world's largest kidney care companies has expressed a need for student volunteers to aid in music therapy.

Artistic Hearts Dec 2020 Holiday Wishes Video Initiative

Since Artistic Hearts volunteers are unable to physically play music at dialysis centers at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they teamed up to send virtual holiday wishes to DaVita patients, staff, and healthcare workers. We hope this video can bring some cheer to everyone at DaVita this holiday season.

WHAT volunteers get in return

Volunteer Hours

A fortune 500 company and one of world's largest kidney care companies has expressed a need for student volunteers to aid in music therapy for patients with chronic illness.  They confirm that generous volunteer hours will be provided for students, taking into consideration time spent for preparation and commute.

Satisfaction

Deep sense of satisfaction because patient health and well being improves across the board.

Meaningful Relationships

Volunteers build meaningful relationships with fellow volunteers and Social Workers.

Leadership

Student volunteers gain leadership skills when they take up responsibility to be a Senior Lead Volunteer or to be a High School Coordinator.

Increased Awareness

Chronic illness and its impact on mental health of patients is a global issue. Researchers are actively looking for music therapy as a solution to address this issue. There is enough evidence that music has healing and nurturing properties that cannot be ignored. Volunteers also gain more knowledge about kidney disease and dialysis by attending Dialysis Awareness Workshops.
